In addition, The Raconteurs recently announced that they would play their first show in eight years at Third Man Records’ 10th anniversary event on 6th April in Nashville. The event will celebrate an incredible ten years that has seen Third Man release close to 600 records out of their Nashville HQ. The Raconteurs will headline the event and will be joined by the likes of Lillie Mae, Craig Brown Band, Teddy & The Rough Riders, The Dirtbombs, The Gories, Detroit Cobras, Quintron & Miss Pussycat, Soledad Brothers, and Todd Albright. Special guests at the festival will include Margo Price, Alison Mosshart, Carla Azar, Joshua Hedley, Dave Buick and more… For full details head HERE.
News of the live shows follows the recent release of The Raconteurs’ first new music in more than ten years. In December 2018 the band premiered two new songs: “Now That You’re Gone” featuring Brendan Benson on lead vocals and “Sunday Driver” with Jack White singing lead. Both tracks were accompanied by stunning videos: “Sunday Driver” was directed by Steven Sebring – acclaimed photographer, filmmaker, inventor, and vanguard in artistic 3D imaging – while the video for “Now That You’re Gone” was directed by Dikayl Rimmasch (Beyoncé, Jay Z, Blondie) and featured renowned burlesque performer Gia Genevieve.
“Now That You’re Gone” and “Sunday Driver” both stem from recent sessions for the long-awaited new Raconteurs LP, due for release later in 2019. The band recently announced the completion of the album with the message “Just finished making the rock & roll album you’ve been waiting for…”
