One of my nightly rituals is trawling playlists, music twitter, radio shows, etc and sending myself a big batch of links to listen to when I get to the office in the morning.
It's extremely important to the direction of my day to find the right soundtrack in the first hours.. starting the day for our kids, making the coffee, the drive to the office, and then the most important is the first couple albums or playlists during those crucial first hours of work. The correct fusion of mood and music is so key to starting my day off balanced.. It doesn't matter if I'm in a good or terrible mood, it still needs the correct soundtrack so everything is synched (sorry if that all sounds a bit hipster Patrick Bateman).
ANYWAY.. now that we're sequestered to home for the foreseeable future, I've been sharing my first record of the day (more clearly, the first record when I'm sitting at my desk ready to work of the day) with the rest of the Third Man staff and have been calling it Mass for Shut Ins. Here's some of those selections in case you need some morning devotional music.
Tuesday’s groove is my favorite. Thanks
I love this, Swank. thank you! be well.
Thanks Mr Swank… Take care and stay safe !
Thanks Mr Swank. Nice mask…
spatial music for my quarantini hours-thanks Rev.
I can’t get the Wed & Thurs Aquarium Drunkard links to load because my internet is coronaborked, but I did get Saturday’s William Tyler link to load and it reminded me of listening to William’s recent conversation with the AQ guys while I was out driving around in West Virginia the other day, thinking about his coronaroad-trip from L.A. to Nashborough while I counted all the shops and such that were still open in each town I cruised through. Thanks for sharing your ritual/mass with us, Rev. Keep on staying synched.
Huh. I JUST thought to myself the other day; “It’s been a while since we’ve had a record post from Swank.” Serendipitous, mmmaaannn.
Thanks.
We need new vault novelties to purchase while we are quarantined
Much appreciated, Rev Swank ?
