I received my copy on Tuesday and I’m in the UK too! I felt like a real Vault VIP knowing I could listen to it before it’s general release! It’s even cooler to know that the only available way to experience it was on vinyl too which makes the whole experience more magical. It’s the first Vault package I’ve ever signed up for and it definitely won’t be the last! A beautiful package, gorgeous discs, stunning artwork that could only come from the wonderful people at Third Man and above all else the music is original,challenging, inspiring, emotional and kick-ass too! Jack and everyone involved should be very proud of themselves, fantastic work everyone!

INTRODUCING… VAULT PACKAGE #35: JACK WHITE BOARDING HOUSE REACH
And look at the photos of the actual album. It is 100% clear that it is a black appearing album that proves to be something different when a light is put behind it. There is even an image that depicts that very action….there was not supposed to be any “quality of coloring” as it was supposed to appear black…The pictures above are supposed to show what it looks like with light behind it for the LP….the singles are light blue…Seriously, go back and look at the original announcement…you are getting exactly what was advertised at that point.

I have subscribed to the vault since the beginning and when i received this i was genuinely disappointed at the quality of the colouring. I know during production the vinyl is never the same as the original pictures or description but it genuinely does look black. When Third Man Pressing opened and we got the Icky Thump X vinyl i couldn’t believe how good they were, possibly the best colouring and design i’ve ever seen but since that package nothing else has really compared.
Luckily the album itself is absolutely incredible and i buy my vault packages to listen to them and cherish them, not just to sell on for profit. The vault subscription does cost a pretty penny though and a lot of people are as disappointed as me and you shouldn’t have to hold it up to the light to see that it’s not actually a black record. When i opened it and when it’s on my record player it is a black record.
vinyl looks nothing like the image, they must’ve taken the pic with the disc on kryptonite or something. i was disappointed until i listened to the album and realised that i will rarely take it out of the sleeve again :/
Mine is not blue as the picture like some of you guy!
I think that it safe to assume that nobody….nobody…nobody received a plain (plane?) black vinyl album…..it was clearly outlined in the initial description that the album coloring revealed itself when held up to a light….behind it….
Stop already with the “I got a black album” nonsense…you didn’t no matter how many times you say it…
