A few months back we hosted one of our favorite comedians in the Third Man Blue Room, hand selected by Jack White to appear. Rory Scovel came, saw and destroyed any and all bad vibes within a 5 mile radius with an improv set of some of the best live stand up we've seen in years. Seriously, the man far exceeded even our lofty expectations for hilarity. Since then Rory has had a bumper few months, appearing on Conan O' Brien in a tuxedo performing uber-classy comedy with live LIberace-style piano accompaniment, co-starring on new TBS comedy Ground Floor and generally ruling the school and jettisoning jocularity into the universe in every town and festival he visits on tour.
Well if you missed his now legendary Third Man live show, fear not and save your tears, it is now available for pre-order on LP and will be available in finer record retailers everywhere December 17th (just in time for the Stand Up fan in your life for Christmas).
Oh, and one last thing for our UNUSUAL FORMAT collectors and fans… The sleeves and labels feature the track list all in braille. That's right. Braille. Trust us, it'll all make sense when you hear the album. It's another meta-comedy first from Third Man Records and Rory Scovel!

Yay for bundles… Just stuck it on my wishlist for after all the Christmas bills are paid.
The sound clip made me laugh remembering being at the show…nice touch for the holiday season which in my opinion usually sucks because people get so uptight at this time of year with all the pressure they feel on themselves and they get nasty and forget what the whole purpose of the holiday season is all about. Commercialism has killed Christmas….damn decorations, mostly “made in China”, have been being put on shelves in stores before Halloween for decades now. I wonder what Rory would have to say about all of that? Could you ask him? If we could ask Jesus what he thinks about it all he would probably be pretty disappointed in mankind. / Thanks for the laughs TMR.
I cannot recommend enough Rory’s first album, Dilation, which came out in the fall of 2011. The first listen, I didn’t quite feel it. But then I listened to it a second time, a third, a fourth . . . I’ve listened to it so many times I’ve memorized the damn thing. Seriously a unique record from a very original comedian—his delivery and attitude really clicks with me. Ordered this as soon as I got the word it was ready to rock.
Unfortunately I missed Rory live at Third Man. But I have seen him perform. He’s a pretty funny guy – I could see why Jack hand picked him for Third Man. After listening to your little clip I want some ice cream – but not Vanilla – maybe Chocolate Chip Mint or Chocolate Peanut Butter. Or maybe some of that delicious Whiskey Pecan or Pear Riesling Wine ice cream I had when I was down in Nashville.
