What would Austin in March be without a little choogle? Our trusty Rolling Record Store will be making the journey deep into the heart of Texas just in time for SXSW Music festivities and will be parked at a new location each day, Thursday-Sunday. We'll be sure to have a stash of limited records at each stop, and while we want to leave at least a little to the imaginative mind dancing around in that skull of yours, let's just say that throughout the weekend, you'll have the chance to get your hands on yellow vinyl TAMLA reissues, and tri-colors for three of our favorite recent releases, Margo Price's "Hurtin (on the Bottle)," Sunseeker's "Georgia Dust," and Video's "New Immortals." We won't tell you which stop has what, but we doubt you'll be disappointed with our selection at any of the following appearances...
THURSDAY 11-8: Billy Reid Shindig @ Weather Up
FRIDAY 11:30-8: Luck Reunion @ Willy's Ranch
SATURDAY 10-12ish: Waterloo Records
SUNDAY 1-8: Uncle Doug's Chili Dog Fest @ The Side Bar
Of course, along with limited records, with each new year brings new exclusive merchandise, and this year is no exception. The big yellow truck will be your one-stop shop for all the exclusive merch you've come to accept, plus new bandanas, stickers, backpack totes, raglan t's, lighters, and neckerchiefs.
We will also have new buttons, pins, camp mugs, water bottles, composition books, and slipmats, which will be available not only from the RRS, but also online and in-stores... because we don't want those of you who can't make it to the lone star state to feel entirely left out. To sweeten the deal for those not in Texas, we will also be running a sale online and in-stores Wednesday through Sunday featuring 25% off ALL BAND MERCH. Want a Margo tote, a Timmy patch, a Dead Weather slipmat? This is your week to stock up.
If you ARE keepin' it weird this week, don't forget to also stop by the Third Man mega party ($10) at Beerland, and one of Margo Price's SIX sets. Onwards and upwards and see you all in Bat City!
I fully realize that I am an opinionated outspoken individual who happens to be a female here in this global community but I also am certain that being told to “laugh at myself” in chat when I am being abused and maligned is yet another form of marginalized acknowledgement… Seriously
Yeah…so…the Autolux show was a super fun and amazimg collection of sounds the other night at TMRNashville… Most people were blown away by the great mix of sound as a sonic profusion of headlong rhythm… So glad I went…….Not so glad one little group of jerks thought it would be funny to put something on my head and then start. Pulling on my hair… I gave them something to think about and moved but did not seek out management… Im sure my new friends who live in TN there for the first time might wonder about what kind of overgrown middle schoolers found it funny to move on a single woman from behind and get personal like that… Here is what i think … http://bust.com/feminism/15551-mo-beta-blues.html
BUYERS BEWARE.. ..These collection-minded fans are dulling the real joy of TMR BRANDING and its live ents for me… I like that new Margo Price lapel pin but i just dont want it if it means a new collection of Toms Dicks and Larrys trying to make conversation with me incessantly over whatever status commodity that i might display… The harrassment of individuals here and the blatant making sport of single women as jealous gladiators in the Jack White fan arena has gone on too long to be anything but distasteful to me and any woman with an ounce of self esteem…. We are not your Brand-Bearing Pitfighters and its quite obvious that seeking friends or being a sincere fan in these circles is setting yourself up for a sophmoric joke or pratt fall.. These stalkers think its a game to latch onto a fan as though someone had a true desire to be associated with such myopic fiends (given that they are parasitic-ridden-diseased-carrion driven mad with greed by their plight of being woefully needful due to lack of value-enhanced character traits) .. in fact we genuine fans try to work around the abuse and the constant manipulation …. I have begun to think there is not a single worthy idea associated with wearing branded gear allowing these periscoping clowns into my musical experiences and personal experience of public appearance as live performances associated with TMR Events now that i have been turned into a walking billboard and veritable poster child for fan-based conversation… Come on people… Get a soul that shows the world more about who you are and less about who you harrass with ‘your petty mastery as dominance of other fans free time’… Seriously… The circus went that way you high-school-popularity-clown-car-drivin fools!!! Sorry TMR but you sat back and laughed at your own people too long.
@kennyLPthe3rd, yes she is the same person. Just changed her screen name.
The RRS should really start coming to the upper Midwest like ND and MN..
OF COURSE TMR lapel pins are out of stock already!!!
I don’t mean to sound pushy, but where’s your RSD announcement?
“…all the exclusive merch you’ve come to accept…” if that’s a typo, TMR, you have to admit it’s a damned funny one, and if not— well-played, well-played.
Regardless… No one is hosting this kind of amazing deal right here: http://www.openculture.com/2013/07/beethovens-ode-to-joy-played-with-167-theremins-placed-inside-matryoshka-dolls-in-japan.html … anywhere any time soon that i know of so i will just remain entirely at my leisure … I could be persuaded to be amazed and astounded easily should TMR put Ben and the Jacks on stage though…just sayin … Hows that for a pretty dollface response? The new quizze indeed… Let me crank up the volume a little more on this Steve Wonder now the Nesting Doll Theremin Orchestra Serenade has lulled
So, TMR, thinking a little further into the future beyond SXSW… Any chance we’ll hear about RSD events anytime soon? I booked my pet sitter for that weekend today, would love to be able to decide which city I’m going to and then book my flight and hotel, too. And I know you’re going to make it a damned difficult decision, to boot. How’sa ’bout you give those of us who travel a break and let us freak out over the choice sooner rather than later so we can get our logistics squared away?
