If you dug your way through the Record Exchange in STL then I applaud you. Go there with an open mind and open to finding random things. If you go there looking for something specific you will be overwhelmingly disappointed but if you go to dig, schedule plenty of time.

Amoeba Music, California…you pick a store!

+1 for Electric Fetus in Minneapolis. Not only are the staff there knowledgeable and friendly, but “Electric Fetus” is hella fun to say.

Thurbert Yeah, what’s up with leaving Grimey’s off?

John Paul Jones

Academy at 12th St. in NYC and the Brooklyn location on Oak. Constant turnover, great prices, and if you subscribe to their Twitter we’ll see they get some amazing walk-ins almost every day. Good Records is also a top spot in NYC for rare jazz/funk/hip-hop, and their “just arrived” bin has some of the best prices around for high-quality stuff.

Flat, Black & Circular. – East Lansing, Michigan is one of my favorites. They’ve been around since the 70’s. I bought the Elvis Presley, My Happiness & That’s When Your Heartache Begins there on Record Store Day 2015. They only had two! I was so excited! I walked out laughing like a little girl.
