Man, Ashley Monroe and her band really blew us away last week with their performance in ye olde Blue Room. Honestly…. Ashely is close kin to the Carter Family if you get down to the brass tacks of it… I never bet money on things unless i know them to be true for just such reasons… Someone portrayed her as such years ago and I literally took their word at face value and no one ever corrected the assumption even in the closest of circles so… I figured it was plain as rain…. I do know that Ricky Skaggs was very close to Bill for a long time and its likely that most folks are under the same impression… At least mow I wont be thinkin she will ever belt ’em out like that non-grandaddy of hers…. Alls well that ends well
I agree, Quizze. And it would make a great legacy story if Ashley were the granddaughter of the late great father of blue grass, Bill Monroe. I would have bet money on it, but, she is not a blood descendent. I’d say though his musical family tree.

The lack of comments in this thread can only be attributed to vaulties not really knowing where to begin with everything going on in front of the camera…. I do think this would have been a great Tidal Feature to expand the streaming interest with the subscribers at Tidal…. As for the granddaughter of Bluegrass getting friendly with Jacks record collection and the divariffic staff showing us how much fun was to be had… It seems like the pictures have their own storylines that are best left uninterpreted in the public domain beyond things like “yeah… I like that carpeting” and “hey! Is that the Pachuco Cadaver single laying on the ground?” … Or…. “Damn … Look at how electrostatically clean that acetate room has to be!”
A lovely girl with sweet, plaintive, delicate voice that reminds me of one of my all time faves, Emmylou Harris. We need Ashley Monroe to carry on those old-school sounds…Always right on the beat, Third Man, the heartbeat of music that matters, in my opinion.
