again… the hush of moments like this echo in the shadow of sacred sound as a calling with true vision in a world of cardboard standouts…. whatever sound comes next and whichever way it arrives to us the believers who see and hear a world running headlong towards insane proportions… we wait for you mr. white and your wisdom to whisk us away to share the complexities of your journey as ritual and social expression as enjoyable sound with your friends and co-creators! !! thanks again…

One more reason I’m sad not to have been able to get to Jackson that day…beautiful.

The Mr. White I miss was alive in 2001. This is want I want more of……..Jack and his guitar, the music……and Apple Blossom, like holy all the time……….

The violin is incredibly beautiful on this piece.

Pathbend

That’s the old Jack we were promised.
Bravo.

Very raw. Thanks for posting this, it was the only venue I stood a chance of getting in, but as luck would have it I could not abandon my job that day — too many other people depending on me.

Years ago some friends persuaded me to accompany them to a Def Leppard concert at a sports arena. After the show we went to a small club with an unknown band. No question the club was far more enjoyable. I hope Mr. White will do more acoustic tours some day.

Beck Vaughn

Haunting and beautiful.

Morgan McPheeters

Well worth the anticipation. So beautiful!

Raw and Austere would be my way of summing up this entire phase of Jacks career…. the contest itself was very unclear and even hurried as to how quickly a response was needed for the first entry which wrapped up in a matter of hours from the start of the announcement for the first location….. very much like the announcement of the unknown states tour itself which played out in subzero weather and sometimes only a few hours to uproot and go plant oneself in a ticket line…. only a very few number of people seemed to be able to anticipate traveling across the nation to displace the native inhabitants for front row limited access appearance privileges at the drop of a hat …. this entire process has been something of a ravel and undoing of a huge tapestry of the history of jack white as a legend to reveal the bare bones beauty of his artistry and individual sense of how years and miles of inspiration and exploration might be only footnotes in the becoming of a man who sees his place amongst the rich and complicate backdrop of the heart of American Music in its many forms …. the lightning ferocity of each of these events/appearances and their resulting releases can only be likened to the rise and sudden obscurity of Mr. Robert Johnson himself but we all know and have come to expect the magnitude and majesty as the signiture of intellect and obscurity from our hero and patron saint… be he ever so humble there is is still no one like jack….
