@Aquamarine2 – oof, I didn’t take notes and I’m afraid to paraphrase erroneously. They answered a few questions about the making-of and took questions from the audience, too. There was a lot of “how was this different from the first one” chatter and some conversation about how the film bits looked so much better than the digital parts, particularly on the big screen. They mentioned that Night 1 was a bit of a rehearsal, and that some of the incidental b-roll may have come from that Night 1 “rehearsal” footage. They also said it was great to be filming so early in the tour, before the band got too settled or seasoned. They said that’s a rare opportunity. Also, Jack was very heavily involved in the sound editing (and it really sounded great). They recorded the sound directly from the live mix. Does anyone else remember things I missed or that I’m too afraid to get wrong?
@AimeeAmanda Any details about the Q&A would be greatly appreciated!
@whoswithme I hope the Q&A with Emmett and Giles gets air time some day, too. It was fun to hear about their perspective and how the process and circumstances (and JWIII) were different this time. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. It may be the best concert film I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen a lot! It’s one-of-a-kind. I can’t wait for you to see it!
@AimeeAmanda that sounds awesome! Can’t wait to watch it.
@WhosWithMe – very different from Great White, as it is mostly concert with fun backstage snippets and “field trip” moments spliced in. The high school pieces are fun. This one is focused more on the music, and the overall vibe is very different. It’s clearly a very different time in JWIII’s life, and it looks like it’s a good time. It’ll make you smile a lot. Oh, and the editing is amazing! I hope it looks/feels as wonderful on the small screen! (Added treat: we got to see the Corporation video on the big screen, too!)
Well? How was it people? Compare it to Under The Great White Northern Lights… was it a documentary style mixed in with concert footage?
What a great concert film! What a special night! Thank you!!! ?
Getting ready to leave for this from Tulsa, ears still ringing from last night, I’m at work now and thanks to the magic of time zone changes and redeye flights will be at work tomorrow. Not missing anything as far as I know…oh wait, sleep, that’s what I’m missing.
I do not want a dvd release. Nstead, id love to watch it 10 times straight.
