As you guys know or saw about 2 weeks ago, we celebrated the ole bossman's 40th by taking a mid-day field trip to the former home of Nashville's beloved AAA baseball team: Greer Stadium. It was a beautiful day to remember! Curveballs were thrown, bases were stolen, runs were homed and chips were munched; it really was an all-star birthday. We've posted photos of the festivities below, captured by the ever-wonderful photographer Angelina Castillo.
Also, we have to give a couple big shout-outs to Luiza S. and Karinna F. in Brazil for organizing a fan-curated collection of kind-hearted birthday wishes to Jack for his 40th, some of which we've included for all to see. What a special gift from you all, thank you. Last but not least, we have to post this original song from long time friend, collaborator and Soledad Brother Johnny Walker in honor of Jack's birthday. I just want to thank Karinna and Luiza especially for such a positive and personal expression of appreciation!!! I am sure there was a lot of thoughtful work put into organizing that project just as it must have taken a lot of planning and coordination to put the Game Day together for Jack as well… and No No No DJRobbyRob … you dont need that shirt… you just WANT THAT SHIRT… if I had one I would give it to you just for being the kind of friend a girl needs in this world (i think) when things get all swirlly and someone needs to come out fisticuffs up to defend some honor! I hope everyone…. and i mean everyone can feel less defensive and get back sharing celebrations like these as time will allow. If it all goes well and we can get along enough to support the community it may be possible for stuff like this and things like popup shops or even the detroit model of hand crafted coolness to emerge and share everyones value of the Third Man Experience where you live… think about that! just a positive birthday thought that I wanted to share.

Wait, was Jack there? If not that is really weird and awkward. It looks and sounds like he was not even around. If he was, that is normal, if not and they celebrated a birthday and he wasn’t even there that is just cringe-worthy and pathetic.

Belated birthday wishes, Jack! Here’s wishing you many, many more. And — well done, TMR! You gave Jack the birthday celebration we all wish we could have. Love the painted grass with the special Third Man stitching on the baseball and the black bat insignia! The caps, jerseys, and pins are too cool as well!! The guitar scoreboard was probably already there — but still, it’s so perfect for Jack! The attention to detail shows how much love and admiration you guys have for Jack. How I wish I could’ve seen it all in person!!
