Fucked Up Live at Third Man Records - Matinee Show
Direct-To-Acetate
July 5th, 2015
Doors/Patio Grill Out at 5pm / Show at 6pm
ALL AGES / $10
We’re freaking out over here. Feverish isn’t even the right word for it. Perhaps we’re just, oh I don’t know, DELIGHTED to announce that Fucked Up is back on the road and their Zodiac Series tour is making its way to Nashville all the way from Toronto, the provincial capital of Ontario, Canada. What better way to celebrate a new release? What do you mean “which new release”? Why, Year of The Hare (on Deathwish Inc.) is the seventh 12’’ single in Fucked Up’s Zodiac series! It’s an ongoing patchwork of epic and explosive songcraft and FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY they’ll be playing selections from the series at random. All recorded direct-to-acetate. They’ll be bringing Doom Squad along for the ride to open up the show here at TMR. It’s one of the most ambitious and sprawling bills ever to grace the Blue Room stage.
Fucked Up is a rare band. They’re a mutant strain of post-hardcore, arena-punk, super-talents capable of reworking the strange and the beautiful into a cohesive whole, but not at the expense of their furious underpinnings that keeps the band in constant motion. They are truly a blitzkrieg of song and lyric. It’s gonna be a frenzy. Thanks, Canada!
This is an ALL AGES matinee show. Doors open at 5pm and the show starts at 6pm. Why? So, we can enjoy two awesome bands and then (cherry on top) go see the fucking MELVINS over at Exit/IN! We go hard. Join us.
Tickets available NOW.
I missed the opening act… But do not miss the live release on this one…. Thank you TMR!!! So much good! People drove from Vancouver on a days notice for this one and Aussies were in the house as well… Good times brought to you by TMR…
That was the real deal last night…. Crowd surfing … Moshers… PBR …. Aheh… Four guitars and no solos… Seriously fun show and good crowd who knew their punk and hard core history… If i were to describe their sound it wound be a mash up of Laughing Hyenas singer with Stranglers Melodies… A wall of oceanic sound like My Bloody Valentine and a drummer with George Hurley sensibilities arranging some wicked juxtapositions of powerful time signatures… The songs were well crafted as a fluid exposition of escalating drama such as i have heard Russian Circles pull off…WOW!!!
If only I were there I will have to settle for weird al Sunday night.
fucked up! 10 bucks a ticket and it’s not sold out? the mind fails to comprehend.
Thank you for respecting The Melvins :-)
I WANNA GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great way to spend July 5th at TMR then the Exit End. Damn that’s going to be epic !
Can’t wait :-)
