I keep the USB in the media slot in my TV and always eager to share with all who visits my home! Days and days upon days of conversation and genuine appreciation for the roots of where my favorite genre of music! (Not sure if TMR has replacement stock for damages parts of sets as they do for Vault packages, but aside from one label and sleeve on one vinyl, EASILY a cornerstone of my prized TMR cool-lection!) Spelled purposely to emphasize how bitchin’ it is!

I was lucky enough to attend the Paramount Talk at the New York Public Library last year, which was an amazing interview. I think it’s so great that Jack is reissuing this music for generations who never would have heard these greats. I knew about Ma Rainey music and basically she was often billed as “The Mother of the Blues”. Much of what Jack talked about and how these artists were treated is very much the topic of the play “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” by August Wilson which is definitely worth checking out. The monologues he writes for her in this play are just as passionate as her singing. I did not know about many of the other featured artists in this beautiful collection and I’m very grateful to Jack for introducing their music to me. Keep up the great work Jack! I’m looking forward to Volume 2.

Hadn’t had a chance to listen to that yet, but it came up in my rss feed and I wondered if it was new or a repeat of an old review. Definitely need to listen now, while I wait for news about Volume 2 hint, hint, wink, nudge
