‘felt a close bond’

PS: Forgot to mention to y’all…if you follow ‘twitter Daru Jones’ you can get some great updates of the tour from Daru. He’s on top it! The first time I saw Daru playing drums was in TMR’s Blue Room in Black Milk’s band. I had never been to a rap show before. I’d have to say it was a rapper backed by an astonishing rock band. I had my hearing protection on (ear muffs…from a home improvement store) and I was able to work my way up to the front of the stage in front of Daru’s drum set and watch him playing, up close and personal and in amazement of course. Then I got to see him playing the first show of the last solo tour and at the historic Ryman Auditorium in downtown Nashville. At one point I was fading out and in a daze and Daru drummed me right out of that. I have elt a close bond with him ever since those two first encounters. It’ll be so nice to see him performing “live” again someday. So glad Jack has kept Daru in his solo touring band. And man that man can tweet some of the best tweets about the tour!

mrtim, Nice post. I’m following the tour on the www. After each show folks are hurriedly posting the setlists on ‘setlists.fm Jack White’, while Jack’s site www.jackwhiteiii.com is posting the photos taken at each show. Some folks can’t help themselves from taking some video at the shows and as much as Mr. White doesn’t like that I think it is cool for a few people to do that so those of us that aren’t able to get to any shows this time around get a little glimpse of the reality of the tour. I like the stage set up which is a little different than the last tour. I’ve gone to www.youtube.com and put in each town and found some clips and I have to say they are interesting and fun to watch. Now having admitted that, I hope Mr. White isn’t infuriated and the TMR staff rolling their eyes and cursing under their breath and working on deleting those youtube clips. My life is boring right now because I have so much stuff to get done (little time for fun), like clear out the accumulated clutter in my house/basement/sheds and in my head some too (that’s the most difficult job). Following the Lazaretto tour is giving me a little added spunk to help me get through the junk (stuff). The more I give away the less I’ll have around to take care of and can spend more time in Nashville/Music City, USA by the time the tour is over. My wish then will be that TMR will be scheduling more Blue Room shows in my most favorite place to attend “live” shows in the music town. It looks like a successful tour already and lots of folks are having fun. May the Jack White Solo Tour 2014 continue on with much safety and lots more love. : )

A huge thanks to Jack and everyone at Third Man for coming to Shreveport last night and blowing our minds! That was such an amazing show in every possible way – the band, the sound, the songs, the lighting – all of it! Hopefully your “money men” were as satisfied as we were, and they’ll let you come back soon. We’ve driven 9 hours to Birmingham and 5 hours to New Orleans just to see you on the Blunderbuss tour, and as great as those shows were, last night meant even more because you did it here – in a town where most musicians drive through instead of driving to.
