Death From Above 1979 Live at Third Man Records
Direct-To-Acetate
July 16th, 2015
Doors/Patio Grill Out at 7pm / Show at 8pm
18+ / $10
Jesse Keeler and Sebastien Grainger are international men of mystery (they're from Canada) who dip their toes into whatever damn waters they please (MSTRKRFT, Deserts/Bad Tits, Femme Fatale, The Mountains, Black Cat No.13), and who know how to pen a song that'll get you off your ass and make you feel things. That's all we really want in a song... how about you? A decade after a sudden break up (following the release of their rich and gritty first record You're A Woman, I'm a Machine, tours with Nine Inch Nails and QOTSA, and one foot in the door of the mainstream) Death From Above 1979 reunited and released their second LP The Physical World last Fall. The duo has picked right up where they left off and are hitting the road this Summer. Amidst their resurgence in which they claim their rightful place among Bands Who Are Worth A Damn And Will Prove It To You, DFA 1979 are swinging through Nashville prepared to record direct-to-acetate in the Third Man Records Blue Room with ten years of lost time to recover and a fresh perspective. We can't wait to see it, cut it, and share it with the world.
The show will take place July 16th. Tickets are on sale NOW.
Sadly immigration postponed this gig maybe until August… They are playing in Louisville on the 24th just in case anyone must catch them this time around… Hope they get back to the Blu Room soon!
So many great things happening at tmr. A live steam is needed for the majority of us that can not be in Nashville. Or perhaps a vault video after the fact online?
Please, please, please let this be some part of a Vault Package!!! Tri-color maybe?! Good work Jack!!!
I am sad this sold out so quickly. Been fortunate enough to see them open for NIN and QOTSA back in the day and recently at Marathon Music. Their documentary “Life After Death From Above” is awesome as well. The Blue Room will be shaking like it did with Hell Beach or the Melvins! Have fun kiddos, at least we can all hear it later when the vinyl is released!
damn sold out :(
I love these guys—my compatriots. Too bad I live so frikken far away.
I’m so glad this band is back in action and sharing their music with the world again. Wish I could get down to Nashville for this as I have no doubt this will be a truly phenomenal show.
Got my tickets. Looking forward to it.
This show is going to be amazing.
Awesome band! Wish I could get there for this!
