Have to say thank you again, Third Man, but this time for putting out this record. This is damned good stuff. Tickled me right off the bat that Danny covered Pink Anderson, Pink’s sadly overlooked. And I like the frankness of his notes on the back cover. Very happy to have this new satellite in my musical universe.

Damn, that’s a terrific article. Mick grabbed my attention right away when I first listened to the Gories and I really focused on him, so this education about Danny has been really interesting. My copy of the record arrived at my office last week while I was away at Jack’s shows, now I’m really eager to get in there today so I can bring it back home with me tonight. Thanks, Third Man, for making me actually want to go to work.

Thoughtful, indepth article on a creative musical explorer (hmm, reminds me of someone else around here):) Love this authentic American music! Gonna get this one for sure. Gospel songs, folk songs bring life and power and joy to one’s soul when you sing them. Danny’s voice has touched a chord in my heart…next up, how bout some sacred harp four part harmony ala Cold Mountain, Third Man! :-)
