"Taking Me Back"
scum stats: wouldn't you like to know
WOOOOOOOHOOOOOO the comments section is back!
You have no idea how bummed its absence has made me. How in the hell was I supposed to give away records without it? So with all the appeal and potential of the clean wall of a bathroom stall...let's make some comments here.
"Taking Me Back" tri-color was originally intended for release at the TMR London store opening in September. We weren't going to give any heads up or announcement or anything...just pop that sucker in the storefront, watch people freak out about it, Jack would've played it live on top of the roof outside. Definitely could've lined up to be badass.
But the more we thought about it, a new Jack White record/song/release would have definitely taken the attention away from the store. Just think, if you were the headline writer...would you lead with "Third Man Opens London Storefront" or "Jack White Releases New Song"? I mean, I dropped out of journalism school and don't think I ever even received proper guidance on how headlines are supposed to be written, but I STILL know what would've happened in this instance.
So for the contest here...write your BEST headline in the comments. Could be about the tri-color. Could be about JW tickets going on sale next week. Could be about Vault packages currently shipping...whatever, it should at least have some vague connection to the subject matter here within the Vault news page. That's not a hard fast rule, but rather just a suggested guideline.
To be eligible your comment must be posted by the end of the day Wednesday, December 15th. The winner will receive one copy of the "Taking Me Back" tri-color. And if the headline is REAL good, maybe I'll toss in a copy of the test pressing too.
Get writing!
