Snooper
Worldwide
Scum stats: so many variants
With my heart already completely won over by this band, I couldn’t help but be mindful of blown with the Los Angeles exclusive coin-flip vinyl done in Lakers colors. And then Memphis coin-flip in Grizzlies colors. And Nashville exclusive in UT colors.
Snooper is brilliant.
Best comment here about being won over, about brilliance, about pandering to the locals, will win a copy of “Worldwide” and maybe, if I can round one up, it might be one of these wild exclusives. Post your comment before midnight central time, Thursday October 16th. Rock on.
I’ve been to plenty of Tennessee Vols games over the years with my two older boys, but this past weekend was a first — my 7-year-old daughter’s turn. She was pretty excited to go
Earlier in the week, I told her she’d probably see a guy with a pet squirrel before the game. Sure enough, within 20 minutes of getting to Knoxville, Squirrel Guy showed up. He handed her a tiny park bench and placed his pet squirrel — decked out in a Vols cap and mini helmet — right on top.
Holding this squirrel she was officially “won over” all things VolsI have pictures of her holding the squirrel if needed to obtain the VOLS coin flip
Volunteer my mind
Blown out by Grizzly brilliance
It is now Showtime
Third Man Records making vinyl great again! Been an off an on subscriber for years now! Thank you for so many great releases!
Snooper’s egg punk has got my brain scrambled and there ain’t no putting this humpty dumpty back together. It’s the kind of music I have to pause every once in a while to make sure that other genres still exist and that other music hasn’t either quit or joined in the fun.
Then to their exclusive vinyl releases — not only is the LA version a perfect Lakers purple and gold, but the alt album art featuring their paper mache characters photoshopped onto Lakers bodies + repurposed tour posters in the packaging is just too perfect for this arts-and-crafts, DIY punk group (seriously cool, I’ve only seen the photos of them online, but go check them out and you’ll be blown away too). I may never be able to walk home with the big green bug puppet from their live shows, but these hand-crafted variants are an excellent stand-in.
Look around
I see the coinflip
Turn my head
I hear a drip
I think I’m coming
Coming for a Snooper Record
Best I got on a hungover Sunday. Love this band and was coming in to order a copy. Will wait and see if I get one first now.
At first I thought the color variants were shameless pandering. Then I dropped the needle. Now I’m hunting every version like it’s Pokémon vinyl. Worldwide is chaotic perfection.
This isn’t marketing, it’s mayhem done right.
Brilliant.
I think you nailed it. Snooper is brilliant. I knew they were pretty good, came across them because the TMR Golden Boy was once on drums. Fast forward to sxsw and over to my favorite spot to catch a band, Beerland, they call it 13th floor now but it’s forever Beerland. Such amazing energy and passion in a small space. The space where I’ve seen countless other great bands, Die Spitz this year Video and Timmy’s in 2016, and yet they still stand out as the best set there I’ve seen. Completely won me over. Long live Beerland. Long live Snooper.
Ben, I have produced a movie script and working to finalize a movie opportunity I would love for third man record to be part of that when music for the movie is addressed. I can’t say enough about how you have really contributed to the music industry and getting out real talent. That being said no deal is yet made so give it to Marshal Rl!!!
Give them to Marshall R.
Caring for your ailing mother is such a wonderful thing and can be very difficult at times (I am caring for my 87 year old mother with memory issues) and he deserves something special!
Ben, I have every disc and each color so far released from TMR and the Rough Trade special releases. I am always looking for more to come my way. It would be super to have one of these to add to my collection. I don’t get out much because of my mother’s health which is getting worse, but I have a wonderful daughter who has been to Nashville twice to pick up special releases for me. She will inherit them one day!!! You made a great impression on her a couple years ago in Nashville. I would love to have one of these special releases to add to my collection that starts from their beginning. Thanks for being you and your hard work keeping TMR the best there is…………..
