All I Need b/w Finish Line
Scum stats: limited to 835 copies on clear vinyl as part of Sub Pop Singles Club
Pound for pound, dollar for dollar…the Sun Pop Singles Club has introduced me to more music than any blog or algorithm or record store clerk in my time.
So at this point of nearly 20-some years of subscribing, it feels downright old fashioned to discover music this way.
If anything is a surprise here…it’s my internal monologue questioning whether the music here is electroclash, whether such a descriptor would even be welcome this day and age, what in the hell are all the unsuccessful electroclash artists doing today, did I buy any of those records back in the day, should I have…and on and on and on.
If you haven’t already check out Menomena’s “moms” lp. It’s not any where near as tech but it has its moments, "one horse " is a good listen. Of course there’s always talk talks " Spirit of Eden" it’s a slower ride and airy. Spiritualized "ladies and gentlemen we are floating in space " is more cloistraphobic believe it or not. And Bowie’s "Moss Garden " from the "HEROES " lp is, well it’s nice to know if needed it’s there. And My Bloody Valentines “loveless” lp ,I think this record gets talked about more than listened to, it’s time to listen to all of this stuff.
I remember that sound! Thanks
Very trippy and strange that I find it very interesting.
I will be checking you weekly updates regularly.
Thanks
