The Stark Reality
Discovers Hoagy Carmichael's Music Shop
An obscure as all-get-out, fuzz-and-funk-filled psychedelic workout on (checks notes) Hoagy Carmichael?
Yes, it is worth your time.
I remember hearing just mere whispers about this one, triggering five-figure spends amongst the hardcore. Peeped this relatively affordable reissue recently and even though I could just absorb this streaming if I was so inclined, Hoagy Carmicheal would probably approve.
Beyond in-depth liner notes and crisp audio transferred from the original analog tapes. Not really much more you could ask for here. Get with it.
This is a real treat, thank you. That band really stretches out.
Happy New Year! I like the note that was written by Hoagy explaining how he and his two sons, Randy and Hoagy Jr. learned of this group. Super record, thanks!!!
What a fun name. Apparently his real name was Hoagland. Just as fun! The only thing I’ve ever heard by Hoagland is a cover of his song Stardust by Tiny Tim and Brave Combo.
Gave this a listen, was time well spent indeed! Happy New Year to everyone at TMR! :)
Happy new year, Ben!
