Criminal Action b/w My Oh My
scum stats: probably 500 copies pressed
You know, the music here is ok, kinda whatever, but I just think that the cover of the pic sleeve here, an illustration of four wildly different women...the sporty rebel, the vampy rabble rouser, the resigned in houserobe and hair curlers, and the clockwatching career woman...is just incredibly fascinating. Mr. Dean Powers (credited for art direction and design here)...I belatedly salute you.
Furthermore, I can find NO connection between the artwork and the subject matter of the songs...which makes it all a thousand times more intriguing. WHY did they choose this as the accompanying artwork? Possibly inspired by the Raymond Pettibon-illustrated back cover of Black Flag's "Nervous Breakdown" single? Unlikely, but a boy can dream.
The songs are just barely on the right side of generic 80's MOR synth driven harmonies. Pretty harmless.
Well… That is a record and this had been a week.
