BLACKWELL'S RECORD OF THE WEEK + 4 GIVEAWAYS!

scum stats: gotta be limited, right?

Being made aware of a vinyl-focused, 7-inch releasing record label through a package blindly sent to the offices here in Nashville is a joy unparalleled. So All Welcome Records and the four different titles they sent here are solid...analog Latino doo-wop vibes, soft sweet soul, low rider legends...a West Coast tinged answer to other established players in the similar realm, labels like Daptone, Funk Night, Colemine and probably some more I'm forgetting.

Their idea was that sending multiple free copies would cause us to carry the titles in the Third Man storefront. But as we only carry Third Man titles in there, I figured the next best thing I could do is draw attention to the label and their wares by touting them here.

So check it, I'm gonna give away FOUR DIFFERENT RECORDS here based on the comments.

First off...listen to the tunes here (I can't find digital anywhere else, fwiw)

Then...just post a comment that you would like a free record. That's it. Simple. If you don't want a free record, don't post. If you want a specific one...feel free to request it. No guarantees, gonna try to pick 'em at random, but something clever or funny MIGHT get you extra noticed. But it also might not. Get your comment up before midnight, Thursday March 13th. Dig it.

Just got done listening with my dad, because I knew this would be right up his alley as well as mine! I love all of this stuff, beautifully soft melodies for a nice spring day. Pops said his favorite were the los honeys, so if I could choose which record I’d want I’d have to agree with him and ask for the los honeys!

Boy howdy, the best way to get people to partake and interact on your blog is to offer something free!! ;) Of course, since i am a collector, I would love to have a copy of their releases. Next time you give something away, perhaps leave it a secret and see how many responses you get. I know, I can be evil sometimes!!!

Grampa always said never pass up a free lunch, appreciate the offer.

Ouch!
Just listened to EVERY SECOND of the 14 tracks found in your provided link. These songs would sound better to me sped up to like 125%.

As a gesture of goodwill for my diligence
in listening to all 14 tracks, & since I’ve never seen a limited version of the Martin Solis and Los Primos (also 14 tracks) album offered through TMR, I suppose I’d be happy to accept one of those : )

Take care everyone.

I would like a free record. What a generous offer.

Rylan G.
