The weekly Fusetron email updates are a wealth of eye-opening for even this hyper-aware jaded bump on a couch. Their missives are where I look for shit that I would otherwise totally never know about. 

Something about what was written about Armpit caught my eye, not exactly sure what, hell, may be just the name alone. The label description mentioned Les Rallizes Denudes, and that's cool enough by me, even if totally inaccurate. 

Recorded in New Zealand in 1993, the aimless guitar ramble of the a-side is unnecessary. Yet the flipside (which is NOT the same tune as the Hank Snow hit from 1951) ratchets up the vibe to a Neutral-era Sonic Youth underwater impressionistic tableau. 

This is what I'd wished my teenage basement cassette recordings sounded like back when I was making them. Twenty five years later, I'm ok with the overabundance of tinny-sounding Nirvana covers.
