scum stats: looks like it was barely any. 100 copies?
Saw Quintron hype this on his Instagram, someone mentioned a Bandcamp in the comments and I was STOKED to see copies were only $8 plus shipping. $15 out the door? Sign me up.
Went to the Bandcamp today and found that it's sold out and the artist has made a conscious choice to not have this available digitally AT ALL...so I'm slightly bummed I don't have a quick way to point anyone to the music here. Nevertheless, I feel like the review is better handed off to Q, so here's what he says...
I think I own the most "weird" organ records of anyone in the universe and this one is at the tippy top of the pile right now. Wow. It has the vibe of those old thrift store albums with awesome artwork (and usually disappointing music) but totally twisted and not in a jokey way. There is deep sincerity and good musicianship lurking among this hiss. Also, the cover song choices are genius - "Hospital" by Johnathan Richman with muffled chipmunk vocals? Yes please. Probably not for everyone, but most people are idiots.
To echo Quintron here, yes, this thing is weird and yes, most people are idiots. Words to live by.
