Low Flying Aircraft
scums stats: limited to 2000 copies, some of which are numbered
Although a UK record from 1979, I walked miles in oppressive Parisian July heat some 18 years ago just for a reissue of the "Low Flying Aircraft" single. So imagine my happy bewilderment last month at finding an original copy in Detroit of all places.
Just weird. Clearly made by artists who may only partially be musicians. Seems like no two copies look the same and that's doing it right. Upon reexamination, I recall liking this more back in my twenties, but there's still a spark of simplistic experimentation here that will always be welcome on my turntable.
Those drums sound amazing.
I need this in my life.
I REALLY like this and will be looking for it as well. I had not heard this before tonight, and I was in Europe in 1982 and stayed there until around 1990. I guess I went to the wrong places or listened to the wrong radio stations. :( One of my best friends was actually into the punk scene, both he and his girlfriend sported mohawks and all. I feel I was let down now :) Thanks for turning us onto these cool little gems!!!!!
