BLACKWELL'S RECORD OF THE WEEK

BLACKWELL'S RECORD OF THE WEEK
The Science of Mysticism - A Rosicrucian Recording

To be clear, the record of the week designation is not necessary a stamp of approval. When I originally started this years ago, I thought I'd be writing critical reviews of records I didn't love. But it's FAR easier being positive and effusive so that's largely the tone I've struck in this space.

Just not today. This record sucks. I was introduced to this quasi-cult secret society via a chapter in the "Bigger Secrets" book back when I was still in single digits. $20 for the LP at the local hip spot Daydream Records was great support to the cause.

But this is BORING-ass just talking without any trippy wild weirdness. Like, lightweight lame. Avoid.

I have found similar recordings at the local (and distant) Goodwill stores and found them to be all the same. I don’t know what people were doing in the sixties to be able to sit down and listen to these people. I think they are great for historical reasons, but I am not sitting in the basement with headphones listening to someone trying to brainwash me. Thank you, but this is not for me either……
