Dana Alberts
Nick Of Time
scum stats: limited to 300 copies on blue vinyl
These songs are acoustic re-recordings of material that Alberts and his band, Minus-One, released back in 1983. That original release was a Thrasher Magazine cassette compilation of, unsurprisingly, skate punk.
Now if I didn't know that, I would have NEVER guessed such a pedigree. These songs are weird and hard to compare and I mean that in a complimentary way. Dana mailed his record to TMR and while I don't think I've got the necessary clout to get him playing live in the big rooms he's looking for, this slightly off-kilter, arty, unique acoustic guitar presentation has some teeth to it. The least I can do is share it here.
And then there were 5.
Thanks Ben, I was able to purchase one on Blue vinyl but there are only 6 more left. His music kinda reminds me of someone but I cannot put my finger on who. Thanks for sharing!!!!
