Lucky Strikes and Liquid Gold
scum stats: I'd bet 100 copies, wouldn't be surprised if it was 500 though
Oh man, finally able to check off this big time wantlist entry.
You know many records from Ironwood, Michigan? Neither do I.
Expertly reissued by the geniuses at Numero Group (without whom I would be unaware of this gem), the record should appeal to just about anyone with an appreciation for somewhat rural singing songwriting with guitar and piano interplay clearly indebted to the prime 60's culprits. Can't go wrong.
Great sounds, I hear some Nico – These Days-Jackson Brown song and Lou Reed’s quiter more lullaby stuff which I enjoy. Thanks
Man, I really do like this song!!! I just don’t understand why it did not go farther. The mid-seventies were ripe for this sound, ask the Byrds. Oh, perhaps, it was too close to one of their songs, I can think of two, and nobody wanted to take the chance. Perhaps it was released in the wrong time, decade, area, etc., that has happened as well. It should have been given a chance; I would have dug it back then (LOL). Anyway, nice to hear from you in 2024, hope your holidays went well!!!
