Sven Wunder
Toryanse
scum stats: they probably pressed a decent amount...
I'm neck deep in White Stripes archival work today and then old tour manager John Baker called and we talked about old time like a couple of old guys. For seventy minutes. And I still need to update the wider team with some historical White Stripes fact-checking.
So I'm phoning in this one.
You know you've got a problem when you accidentally buy the same record twice. I don't wanna hear shit about your Discogs collection usage...I PRE-ORDERED this record twice. That's just silly dumb. And shit wasn't cheap, something like $25 all-in. Don't tell my wife. Or do. Whatever. I don't care.
Anyway, the slow erosion of my short-term memory and eventual descent into madness is YOUR gain. Impress me in the comments, however you think best, and you get my extra copy of this record.
The songs are stylized takes on traditional Japanese folk songs from the Edo period. "Toryanse" is oftentimes played in connection with traffic crosswalks in Japan. When the music is done...it is safe to walk. That's pretty cool, though I think "Sakura" is far more of a jam here...just drum style for days.
Delivered with the slavish attention to detail that I've come to expect from Sven, I'm eagerly awaiting more material from their realm.
And back to the archives.
Oh, well I am new here and didn’t notice your name. I had gone Jack’s Facebook page after that phenomenal SNL performance and saw the pre-sale for Vault 46. I may have keep my inconsequential opinions to myself. I was unaware all of this exsisted, all my merch is from shows or gifts. I’m not big on social media. I am quiet sure you don’t need to be told anything about anything like I know anything. The Sven Wunder music is really good. I have shared info with friends so thank you. I decided to order a turn table since they are at such a good price and am in need of a better one. I’m going to order it tomorrow and don’t want to spend more money.
So I ran my mouth per usu. Like get that record girl. Idk some dude runs his FB page I talked to few times. I didn’t realize anyone important ran this. Of course I stood out in FB lol. He like runs some FB fan page to talk to ppl. Actually the first record I purchased was “Wiirlwind Heat” “Do Rabbits Wonder” on the “Elephant Tour” I have the 7in, I see there is a 12in now. That’s when collecting records started for me. I was 21 though they were amazing and I loved the whole Ninja look lol. I was like what, who is that? Mine is still in great condition. I remember going to merch stand I looked at my first husband like they have an actual record for sale, just though it was cool as F***. I made him buy it and the buttons lol. That’s the tour when it waa hard to get tickets to see White Stripes. I had to stay up all night and wait outside for the store are our mall with a ticket master in it to get them. That’s how I started to appreciate vinyl records. It spilled over it’s all my sister will buy. Pay no attention to the girl behind the curtain. She’s not going to cimm
On a side note, this is what I wrote about why I was excited about the “Vault 46” announcement thread basicly. I am terrible at spelling. Down below I meant *conversance. I had to read a lot about Jack for a project. So the first comment was something he said in an interview. I laughed for twenty minutes. I tend to utilize and enjoy sarcasm. I also routinely partake in a wide range of anima and Japanese programing like a nerd. An extroverted nerd. So all of this as I have been a fan for for twenty one years I am taking a shot at standing out. I am a pharmacy tech and a college student. 25 bucks is 25 bucks. I’m divorced. I paid for this membership so no new record yet. You dangled the carrot and are now stuck reading my self-obsessed nonsense. You didn’t exactly get to phoning it in, you ended up with work in the end. Now you had to deal with, let’s say “quirky” fans. If I did not annoy you, my goal my be achieved. If I did, eh. I’ll hit you back on my next apology tour. I think I’m funny & whimsical and the following is sagacious.’Tis my way of impressing you. You should do rules, like tell a funny joke lol.
When this was announced it triggered a mania of irrepressibility in myself, I am driving my friends mad. My preferent album is De Stijl with a proclivity towards “Hello Operation” “Apple Blossom” and principally “Truth Doesn’t Make a Noise” and “Why Can’t You Be Nicer To ME” The entire album is staggering. All of Jacks work is confounding, wondrous, perplexing, and bewildering. This was released during a convalescent stage in my life at 16. I was emancipated at 14, and am a bit of an obsessed eleutheromaniac. At 16 I I obtained a GED and was employed in management. This album was freedom with the raw emotion needed at that age. It was the first tour I saw containing the “White Stripes.” I am now discourage from playing De Stijl lol. I view it as Jack’s Sistine Chapel. I tend to venerate all of Jack’s work. I listen to his solo work more often with “I’m You Puppet” tossed in. Actually I feel “Sixteen Saltines” is more White Stripes than his solo era. Well something about that song stands out as disparate. In additions he educates you. I know what a Jack Chick comic is now, which I should have being the daughter of an Italian immigrant. That’s another song I am captivated by. This is what happens, I go down the rabbit hole when I start trying to designate what work I like best and end up beguiled. I am feverish for this release, this has been ongoing since his fill in on SNL. He became the subject of a business paper about proficient businessman I am writing. I saw SNL and knew who my choice was. I obtained a two-year degree in a field where I am not in a management position and need an MBA in business to advance. Jack could make exponentially more money if he desired to. He knows exactly what he is doing and is always a step ahead. He spits out the formula, half in words and half in actions though the effective business strategies he employs. On one side you must possess showmanship, be charismatic, and talented. Likewise you must market yourself as a product. Jack is correct, he does it himself because a bad manager may cause your downfall. Not many ppl possess that much drive, forsite, and emotional intelligence to handle both positions. Freedom is a great motivator. It’s my motivator. Well I guess I wrote a paper here on my motivation to buy Vault 46, and should finish my actual paper.Plus I’m A Vivid Auspicious Red-Letter Conversaunce of Perspicacity so I think my comment below is clever.
I use technology. I am right now, as I am forced to write this boring response.
The Japan minimal design is ?
Ben! spill the John Baker details!
Hey Ben. I don’t think I should have to try and impress you. you should just love me for who I am
45’s!!? Back in MY day, we traded 78’s.
Have you seen the McCartney III 333 editions are going for $1500+ on ebay!? What is the most $$$ you’ve ever spent on a record? Also, what record do you own that has gained the most in value since you bought it?
I bought The White Stripes Australian version of Elephant (where Jack and Meg are both wearing white on the cover) the year it came out for $50. I later sold it, when I desperately needed money, for $100, thinking I was making a good deal by doubling my money. Then I found out how rare it was and I regretted it. Years later I bought another copy for $500. Does my stupidity impress you?
China sure is an interesting subject. Thoughts?
