BLACKWELL'S RECORD OF THE WEEK

Jesse Dulman Quartet — Live at Downtown Music Gallery

scum stats: limited to 250 copies

Straight burner here. Not sure what I expected from a live recorded jazz record with tuba as the featured instrument, but I’ll be damned if I wasn’t completely compelled here. Interesting in every aspect, from the tunes, to the whip-smart cover design to the Estonian (?) label that released it in minuscule numbers. Super hot fire for the masses. Dig in…from slow New Orleans style dirges to wild free jazz style romps…this hits on many tasty realms. And I’m not even a fan of jazz.

OMG! I like Jazz but that horn is dreadful!

Anyone know if there’s a US distributor carrying this? Shipping from Estonia’s as much as the record.

Does anyone know why it takes so long to cancel a Vault subscription. My day I signed up last time was the 31 so I canceled it a couple weeks ago because I wanted to get my day closer to the middle of the month instead of the last day. I can’t place a new order so no idea what is going on.
