Black Devil Disco Club (this is interchangeably the album and band name, apparently)
scum stats: 2015 repressing on Kemado, I’m sure originals are scarce
Dark French disco that motivates. I put this on at Swank’s daughter’s birthday party one year and it PROMPTLY got shut off out from under me. And rightfully so, as this ain’t the soundtrack for a two-year-old’s party.
But listen to this full record (it’s only thirty minutes) and I would expect you to enjoy it. This thing was inexplicably obscure for twentysomething years before reissue, but I’m mighty glad to have an affordable copy.
I know next-to-nothing about dance music, but I do know when music moves me. And this moves me, so I just want to share. Nothing more, nothing less.
Side notes:
My buddy Johan played this for me eight years ago and it took me too long to find a suitable copy. I just pulled up the iPhone “note” (from February 25th, 2010) with all the other records I took note of Johan playing me that day, included are…
Problem
Underground
Pugh
Tiny Tim “Santa Claus Has the AIDS This Year”
Diana Ross “Love Hangover” rare 12” promo mix
The Last
I bought copies of most of the Last singles, but haven’t been able to track down much else on this list and am having trouble figuring out what exactly Problem, Underground and Pugh even are.
And the Tiny Tim record, while insanely offensive, is also insanely rare. Not one you really ever see kicking around. I can’t even find it listed on Discogs.
there’s a whack of black devil reissues on ebay.com
Happy Paczki Day.
Cool band/album name.

I keep waiting for Jack to shout, “I’m thinkin about s-s-startin a corporation!”
That’s Blackwell – always available with groovy tunes to DJ your kid’s birthday party! HA! ;)
Tiny Tim record on eBay for a cool 2 bills.
there comes a time when people recognize that demons and demonization are a part of some hierarchy of social control meant to distract people from the complicated truth of being honest and caring when it is most difficult to be honest and caring…. sort of like the same way that people who make electronic music tend to quit being honest and caring about how that artificially produced sound will actually impact a live crowd or if it will be reproducible in a moments notice … I enjoy many different types and styles of sound crafting as well as heartfelt expression of ones creative voice even though I know better than to believe in it
excellent synth funk. Would make a great soundtrack to a skewed 70s flick
Pugh is likely this Swedish prog outfit: https://www.discogs.com/Pugh-Ja-Dä-Dä/release/714454
