We have a theory: It's impossible not to like Autolux. Because Carla Azar. Because of the soundtrack-of-the-otts symphony of their first two records. Because of their upcoming release PUSSY'S DEAD, which, judging by what we've heard, sounds more like the future than the score of TRON. Because two of the band's members met while composing the music for a Nobel-prize winner's play. Because Danger Mouse's 30th Century Records is their new label home (and we love us some Danger Mouse.) Because this. And this. And this.
Check out "Soft Scene," the first single off Autolux's new record, out April 1st, and get your tickets for their Blue Room performance, scheduled for Saturday March 26th and set to be recorded direct-to-acetate and released as — what's sure to be — one of our best live records to date as fast as humanly possible.
Because because because because because.. Because of the wonderful things je does….we are are off to see the wizard…. The wonderful wizard of Iz!!!
Looking forward to this blueroom release on vinyl!
What a great show tonight!!! MyBloodyValentine was nearly rivalled with this performance and Sonic Youth got nothin on the swagger in Audiovox… Not sure about the opening act Eureka! but it was deep groove madness up in that place without question… Dear Jack… Thanks for the drumpfspoiler chaser fun .. .it was incredible and you were Jack White! TMRworkfriends are the best too! Yes Yes…just too much excitement!
Jenn… Those artists need some travel cash to kick off their tour and pay the utilities on the homefront… Even fugazi charges more than $10 at some of their shows these days! Who knew?
Wow…the tix are now $15 instead of $10???
Vault discount code isn’t working on these tickets for some reason. :(
Quite possibly this could be a frontrunner for the title of best show in the blueroom this year…. I wonder if the setlist will be a mix of old and new material or if it will represent the most recent album as a specifc auditory exploration in live terms?? This is what i love about the decision making of artists and their choice as to how they will engage the audience as a recipient of their vision!!!
Saw Autolux open for the White Stripesin 2003, they’re wonderful live. Also worth noting that they share a member in common with the excellent recently resurrected 90s space-rock band Failure.
Awww man I wish I lived closer! Or if teleportation was a tangible method of travel for humans that would work also.
This sounds interesting…
