Over the week of September 19-24, while AmericanaFest flooded every corner Nashville, Luck Reunion and yours truly holed up in an East Nashville mansion - bringing together Americana's finest for inspired collaborations. Here is a glimpse of what happened at the Luck Mansion.
For five days, artists set up in the parlor room of the pop-up "Luck Mansion" to perform for audiences of no more than 15 covering classics — from Guy Clark to Concrete Blonde — or, in some cases, a brand new song co-written by the pair on-the-spot. (Parker Millsap/Sarah Jarosz, John Paul White/Rodney Crowell, and Langhorne Slim/Lillie Mae Rische all churned out new original tunes!)
The tape was rolling for the entire week with Third Man engineers at the helm, capturing these stunning performances to take beyond the walls of the mansion to showcase the soulful collaborations that occurred. Luck Reunion and Third Man Records will be releasing ongoing video of the sessions as well as a collection of 45's, rolling out one-by-one in early 2017. More on that in the coming weeks...
