We here at Third Man Records try not to spare you from the heaviest of heavies and here we are again with no exceptions. On August 1, 2016, not terribly long after the annual belch of fireworks has ended, the Blue Room will be host to two of the best-loved psych-metal shredders and doomsters around not just in the US of A, but on the whole damned planet. Any idea who? Why, you're correct! BORIS is heading out on a North American tour (all the way from Japan!) and will be performing the critically acclaimed PINK in full, in our midst, and it will be recorded direct-to-tape. There’s got to be no better way to celebrate the 10-year anniversary and the deluxe reissue of one of their finest releases. The reissue will be available on 3xLP box set, 2xCD, and download on July 8 via Sargent House, including a bonus album of previously unreleased songs that were recorded at the same time as PINK, titled Forbidden Songs. Stream a track below! And, then, of course, somewhere down the line, their live rendition of the record will be available on LP from yours truly. So, there's no end to the celebration in sight. Ain't that right.
On hand for direct support is the likeminded, superhuman sludge-drone majesty of EARTH, a band who has an integral spot in American music by bringing a low-frequency uproar and six-string extremism to the forefront of the experimental, punk metal underground. This’ll no doubt be the loudest show we’ve booked here since the Melvins, so, if you SOMEHOW manage to sleep on this (or THROUGH this), please send us a picture of the rock you live under and we’ll forward it to the Bureau of SMDH.
