STORY OF MY DEATH
d. Albert Serra
Spain/France - 2013 - HD Video - 148 min - Catalan with English subtitles
WINNER OF THE GOLDEN LEOPARD, 2013 LOCARNO FILM FESTIVAL
Short Synopsis: Casanova gets to know his new manservant, who will bear witness to his final days of life. Leaving a French château with its typical 18th century atmosphere of licentiousness, he spends his final days in impoverished, dismal northern Europe. There, his world of frivolity and high society, as well as his Enlightenment rationalism, crumble when faced with a new, violent, esoteric and romantic force represented by Dracula and his eternal power.
Watch Jack’s special performance of “The Same Boy You’ve Always Known” and “Entitlement” at the Saint-Saturnin Chapel at the Château de Fontainebleau in France for La Blogothèque's Take Away Show.

Labor Day is upon us, and we're just as bummed as you are that Summer is soon ending and taking with it all those cherished 9pm sunsets, intense matches of "Marco-Polo," minor league baseball games, grill-outs, bonfires, sundresses, perfect motorcycle weather, and outdoor movie nights. Alas, you can't control the weather and you can't stop time, so here's a little manufactured sunshine to make it all alright:

Third Man Records is proud to present an exciting new full length album from our favorite Third Man chanteuse… Olivia Jean!
Bathtub Love Killings is the debut solo LP from Olivia Jean, the multi-instrumentalist who cut her teeth in the Third Man stable backing folks as varied as Karen Elson, Wanda Jackson and Jack White in addition to fronting the much-loved Black Belles. Jean has accrued a lifetime of experience in a few short years, from highlight performances on The Colbert Report, Conan, Late Show With David Letterman and The Grand Old Opry stage to having one of her songs used as the theme for the television series Elvira’s Movie Macabre.
Produced by Jack White, Bathtub Love Killings showcases Jean as a songwriting force to be reckoned with. Playing damn-near every instrument she could get her hands on, the result is a well-rounded, catchy record that’s chock-a-block full of ear worm moments.
Bathtub Love Killings will be available everywhere on LP, CD and digital on October 14th. A limited edition lavender colored vinyl version will also be available via Third Man Records.
