NEW COMEDY ALBUM FROM MICHIGANDER BRAD WENZEL

20 July 2018

Michigan’s own Brad Wenzel, best known for his offbeat, one-liners, is the latest young comedian to align himself with Third Man Records. Wenzel’s debut album Sweet Nothings premiered this morning on SiriusXM’s Rawdog Comedy Hits (Channel 99) and will reair this evening at 7pm ET as well as at 12pm ET Saturday and 5pm ET Sunday. The album is also available for purchase now on vinyl LP (with 11 minutes bonus content!) via our online store and record stores worldwide, with a digital release to follow on August 3rd.

About his relationship with Third Man, Wenzel said, “I moved to LA a couple years ago, but I started comedy in Detroit so it’s very cool to have Third Man putting out my first album. It means a lot that these records were made there. I stopped by the Cass Corridor before I moved away, just as a Jack White fan. I never would have thought they would be putting out my stand up record.

I think people who know me will probably like it, but I’m really hoping some strangers like it. I really need to get some strangers on board.“ Third Man Records is similarly hopeful that strangers like the record.

Wenzel’s unassuming presence and dry delivery set him apart from other comedians. Now residing in Los Angeles, he has recently made 2 stand-up appearances on CONAN to wide acclaim. After winning first place at the Great American Comedy Festival, Brad was a finalist in Funny or Die’s “Road 2 Oddball”, performed at RIOT LA, and was selected to be one of the “New Faces” at the prestigious Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, among many other festival appearances.

Wenzel headlines around the country and has worked with comedians like Brian Posehn, Kathleen Madigan, Pete Holmes, Jerrod Carmichael, Gilbert Gottfried, and Patton Oswalt. He co-hosts Pod Seger, a Bob Seger podcast along with fellow comic, Trevor Smith.

Sweet Nothings is from his live set in October 2017 at The Comedy on State in Madison, WI. It will join the robust ranks of Third Man’s comedy record repertoire, including Reggie Watts, Rory Scovel, Scharpling & Wurster, Conan O’Brien, Billy Wayne Davis, Neil Hamburger and more.
